We are delighted to announce that Pacer and the Union Pacific Railroad have entered into new multi-year arrangements that provide Pacer with continued access to the entire UP network.  This is a significant positive development for Pacer and our customers who seek integrated door-to-door control over each element of the transportation process.  Now more than ever, Pacer is positioned to seamlessly coordinate and control equipment, technology and service delivery for our customers in a dynamic marketplace.   

I would like to highlight some key features of our new arrangements and some of the added benefits that will bring unparalleled value to our customers.  First, the new arrangements provide Pacer with competitive rates and continued access to the entire UP intermodal network. Second, we continue to provide customers access to our Pacer-controlled fleet and our entire range of small-box offerings. In addition we succeeded in gaining broader access to the UP’s rail-controlled container fleet at competitive rates.  We have also entered into container yard and equipment pooling arrangements with UP to reduce costs and improve access to capacity. 

In addition to those added benefits, we remain committed to offering a superior product at competitive rates.  We continue to employ the best people, delivering the highest service excellence using the most diverse equipment fleet with the most extensive intermodal network in North America.
